Hannafannafofanna

Well, here comes my first tropical storm. I've battened down the hatches, which mostly just means I've sqeezed my car into the garage in order to avoid another shattered windshield. It's looking like Hanna will likely be a direct hit here tonight, but at least it's moving quickly, unlike Fay over Florida recently. That should minimize flooding potential.

Not too worried about this one. Probably my main concern is the possibility of losing power and missing football over the weekend. Of course, I'm also wishfully thinking that bastard Ike doesn't make a sudden turn this way in a couple of days.

Since I'm already LJing, here are a few other random thoughts:

  • Way to go Vandy for beating those Cocks! So, so sad to see USC lose to the "sorriest team in the SEC", again.
  • David Duchovny checked into rehab for porn addiction? Wow. At least I know I can quit whenever I want.
  • Generation Kill is well worth watching.
  • Spore acquisition T-30 minutes. Soon we shall see if the last couple of years of hype have been worth it.
  • Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburgers.

David Duchovny

The rumor a decade ago was that he and Tea Leoni met at a sex-addiction support group. At the time he was also the host for some late night skinimax show. I'm surprised this rumor wasn't trotted out again given how much coverage his recent cheating got. I can't find reference to it... did anyone else hear this?

Spore hype

I'm pretty disappointed in Spore. It's just a boring rehash of The Sims, only instead of earning money to customize your house, you earn "dna" points to intelligently design your creature.

And EA is still fucking over customers with overly zealous DRM.

I, too, was looking really

I, too, was looking really forward to spore. Between the tepid reviews and the 3-install limit (I install most my games more than 3 times in a year), I'll be giving it a pass.

The trouble with being punctual is that nobody's there to appreciate
it.
