Douchebagette ripping up begonias @ Everything Mushrooms
Twice in one week, I feel lucky.
Most of the damage is to the large planter, which is off camera (lower left). At the start of the video, if you look closely, you can see the begonias being tossed onto the sidewalk and into the street (again look lower left). Then the douchebagette offender steps into the camera zone and decides to try and go for the ivy. She ripped off some leaves, but the ivy is strong and remains.
Filed police report, and will be doing so every time from now on.

I still think you should hide an electric fence wire in the beds
Having to deal with this constant vandalism would infuriate me to no end—even hearing about it ticks me right off. You're trying to bring just a touch of vibrancy back to a blighted neighborhood, and these antisocial assholes keep replying with a big Fuck You.
I say keep filing the police reports. You might not get any direct results from it (other than getting one of your district's cops out of his goddamned patrol car for a few minutes), but at least it adds (I assume) to the neighborhood crime statistics. At some point the city must do something about that area's problems, or maybe that's just what little remains of my naive optimism talking.
